A new site at an old address

Fit To Screen is an independent reference on anime wallpaper treated as a screen file, and it hosts no wallpaper files at all.

What this site does

It answers two questions and stops. Is the picture yours to use, and what does the screen you are putting it on actually need. The first is a licensing question and the second is an arithmetic one, and almost every disappointing wallpaper is one of them going wrong.

Everything on the site is measured or drawn here. The figures are drawn for it: aspect frames, crop previews, safe area overlays and pixel scales. Where a page shows a photograph it is of a physical object, a panel or a desk or a handset, because those are the only parts of this subject that can honestly be photographed.

What it will not do

It will not hand you an image. This address used to belong to a site that distributed anime wallpapers, and those files were copyrighted artwork: that is precisely the thing that cannot be rebuilt, and it is not something the site works around. No page here reproduces anime art, links to it, or explains where to take it from.

Where the honest answer is that the picture somebody wants is not free to use, the page says so and names what is free instead.

The old addresses

Links from around 2007 to 2010 still point at this domain, mostly at image files inside a per-series directory. Those addresses now lead here rather than nowhere. They cannot lead to what they used to hold, and nothing on this site pretends otherwise.

Independence

This is a new project. It has no ownership of, affiliation with, or continuity to any previous owner of this domain, it does not reuse the former name, and it sells nothing. Product, program, studio and company names mentioned on the site belong to their respective owners and are named as facts, not as endorsements.
